They say that gift giving is an art that emboldens life and living, and our social nature as humans sets the tone to constantly seek ingenious ways for creating life long bonds. When we pay close attention to the needs of others, we inevitably impact their mood and even improve relationships.
While some people are always exhilarated to give the perfect gift that they go overboard to plan and stalk gift stores before concluding on a suitable item, other people are not in sync with the idea of gift giving at all. In any case, the act of giving is seen as a kind and intuitive gesture, whether it is giving for birthdays, wedding, achievements, or communicating feelings.
If you really want to make that gift count, then explore these tips for gifting:
- Less is More: in all honesty, you really do not have to go overboard with buying exorbitant items, what you should do is study the personality of the receiver as gifting is largely dependent on the personality of that individual. It may even be as small as a notepad and a cool tip pen, or a new pair of socks, just put into perspective the persons favourite colour and you are well on the way to forming a long-lasting friendship.
- Think Evergreen: gifting allows the giver to optimise feelings and emotions from the moment the gift is being received, but the trick of giving mind blowing gifts is to think beyond that fleeting moment. Think about the long-term value of the gift, ensure that it is something that will be of sentimental value to the receiver, one that will always be appreciated.
- Think distinctive: why focus on a person’s unique traits alone when we can explore options about what the proposed receiver really wants and needs. If you share the same taste in clothes and shoes with the person, then gift the person something of that nature and you will have them smiling each time they sight or utilise the gift.
- Give based on seasons: there are different times of the year, and each season comes with its peculiarities. Don’t get perplexed, just key into the season and find something that coincides with it. What truly matters is the consideration behind the gift and the other details surrounding it.
Gift giving is an expression of warmth, respect, affection and an act for fostering great alliances. You really do not have to break the bank to impress the receiver, don’t do yourself a disservice nor rid yourself of the fun that comes with shopping for a gift. It is a kind act that releases endorphins (happy hormone) which benefits both the receiver and the giver.
Someone once taught us that ‘’happiness does not result from what we get, but from what we give’’. Do you know who?
